La Pirata

For George Molina of Fullerton, Califonia, it was an easy decision to make. "I wanted to dedicate my first lowrider ever to the Oakland Raiders and to all of the fans of the 'Silver and Black Attack' everywhere." George who is a lifelong fan of the Raiders, fell nothing short of his own personal commitment to excellance when it came time to build this 1961 Chevrolet Impala. La Pirata is the name that George chose, The Raider. Since owning this car, George has built and then rebuilt this car at least twice and both times the car caught the "eye" of lowriding magazines everywhere.

George was lucky enough to find a good solid car to begin with and after nearly fourteen months of restoring and building, the car got even better. Much of the work was done by George and his brother Manny, also a lifelong lowriding fan and builder of lowrider cars. But most of the work was done by Auto Re-Stylers in Paramount, California and friends from Brown Pride CC.

Soon after we photographed George's car, it was shipped off to a new owner and home in Japan. For those who were lucky enough to see the car on the show circuit for the past few years, built and then rebuilt again. you know that this was one of the top cars around for many years. For those that never saw "La Pirata" in person, we at BLVD Magazine hope that these pictures will give you a good idea of what it takes to build a show winner.
